Cuddle in a winter wonderland…
Snuggle together as the horse carries the sleigh through snowy meadows at Borges Sleigh Rides. The Borges family’s antique European sleigh is drawn by Belgian Blondes and Baskir Curleys from Russia and takes riders for a one-hour tour over the meadow and through the woods, past Friday's Station – the only remaining Pony Express station from a by-gone era in Nevada. Other favorites include Camp Richardson Corral, Kirkwood Corrals, and Zephyr Cove Stables.
Join 30-year veteran musher, Dotty Dennis, and her huskies for a memorable winter adventure on Husky Express. One hour sled rides cross the wilderness of Hope Valley, 30 minutes south of South Lake Tahoe. Running Creek Sled Dog Rides offer a memorable 40 minute ride, circling Kirkwood Meadows daily with monthly full moon tours.
Zephyr Cove Snowmobile Center offers tours until mid-April, featuring lake views at 9,000 feet on the Nevada side, four miles from the casino corridor. Lake Tahoe Adventures offers unguided snowmobile rentals for seasoned riders into the heart of Tahoe’s forest lands to the top of the mountain ridge and guided off-the-trail tours for less-experienced adventure seekers. Tours operate daily every hour from mid-November to May. Both locations feature moonlight snowmobile tours along with ride and dine options.
Heavenly Village opens its lighted, outdoor ice-skating rink for couples to enjoy the crisp Tahoe evening in the heart of this attractive mountain village.
Reach a romantic high…
Ski Magazine in 2004 rated the Heavenly Gondola as the most scenic in the nation any time of year. Rising from the heart of the village, the gondola whisks sightseers to 9,000 feet above sea level for panoramic views of the entire Tahoe basin. The gondola stops at an observation deck, two-thirds of the way up, where you’ll find covered picnic tables, built-in benches, and high-powered telescopes.
Heli Tahoe lifts lovers to new heights. Tours range from 20-minute flights showcasing the shoreline from Zephyr Cove and Emerald Bay to an hour-long sunset tour around the lake with breathtaking views of the setting sun and the Sierra Nevada Mountains.
Float forever on the crystal blue…
Cruise on North America's largest Alpine lake, 22-miles long and 12-miles wide, covering 191.6 square miles. The classic paddle wheeler, Tahoe Queen, departs from Ski Run Marina in the heart of South Lake Tahoe. The ‘Queen’ is popular for a sunset cruise and buffet or weekend dinner/dance sightseeing cruises. Voted "Best Boat Cruise" at Tahoe for ten years running, the M.S. Dixie II Paddle wheeler, departing from Zepher Cove Marina, hosts scenic dinner/dance, and sightseeing cruises.
When the sun goes down, casinos and other clubs at Stateline provide a sizzling nightlife that rocks until the sun comes up. Headliner entertainment, 24-hour gaming, comedy and cabaret, live music and dancing all make South Shore Lake Tahoe the place to party with your sweetie.
